As usual though, out here if anything goes wrong, you're on your own. I wouldn't be able to justify getting the chips return shipped if they had failed on me. which they might as I've been sing them only a few months. Explains why I was kinda paranoid. I half expected one of the two chips to be a lemon, which is why I ordered 2x4GB in the first place. But now that I have 8 GB in my laptop, I can safely say that it was the right choice. I can open 200 tabs in 4 different browsers without the machine breaking a sweat. And that's with a dozen other apps open in the background.

Pro tip: Always buy as much memory as you can afford. That, and get an SSD if and when you can afford one. I still am waiting for my time to come.

2 points deducted for the, whatchamacallit, opposite of Amazon's frustration free packaging. I hate those vacuum sealed packs. I generally end up getting my fingers injured while opening them. They do seem to help keep the contents safe though. So, whatevs.
